The reasons are much the same as we covered here last month.

Statements like this make me think that the "R" in RAID stands for 
Religion.

Something not working should be a sufficient reason for not doing it. If 
it isn't, the list of things that don't work that you should do anyway is 
quite endless. How about putting a Redskins bobblehead on your drive case 
to ward off evil data-sucking spirits?

The above mentioned article suggests Carbonite and Mozy.

I suggest an external drive (RAIDless). If you must invoke the spirits 
you can run your backups with Ghost.
