Well so much for that possibility...
Have you thought about temporarily borrowing a lightscribe drive from a
friend etc and seeing if it works any better on your system?
Also, If there are endemic problems with that model it will surface on
the forum. If it doesn't the problem is something to do with either
that particular drive or your particular system...

controller (circuitboard), and sent it back. But, I still have the
same unsuccessful response from the burner and LaCie now suggests
I try to get help on lightscribe.com's discussion list! I am
posting there but I'd greatly appreciate help from the computer
guys and/or suggestions for other forums where I might get help. TIA
