Last time I checked, it made no economic sense to hook up Vonage on a telephone line. I mean, if we had cut off our phone, our DSL would go with it. Have you checked the price of keeping the DSL but unhooking the landline? Assuming they even allow that?
I wouldn't assume anything about cable. They really enjoy the big bucks people pump their way every month. Price it, you may be able to talk the installer into doing it. Just don't disconnect the telephone until it's working!
