When I installed Ubuntu, the installer just found all the drivers it needed without any help from me. The only thing I had to do was tell it whether I wanted multiple partitions and assign some passwords. On the other hand, the machines I have installed Ubuntu on have all been "wintel" type machines, not Macintosh.

I am about to enter the Linux world by installing Ubuntu on my wifes old PowerBook. Is there a central place I can look for drivers or do I have to go to the manufacturer's website? Any other advice as I enter this world?
