Also, it may be your computer doesn't have enough ass to play the
video? I've got a cable connection, and my "big" computer (P3 450)
can't keep up with larger sized videos while playing the sound just
fine. My laptop plays them okay though.

You could try increasing the buffer. That'll store a longer portion of
the vid before playback.

If you're looking for a WMP alternative, you can try WinAmp. It'll play
Windows Media.
