Apple had a Christmas meltdown too. Apparently there were many more
iPhones and iTouches than expected under the Christmas tree. The
resulting crush of activations brought their system down at a time when
anybody who knew how to do anything was at home with the family. So some
people had to wait until Boxer Day to get their new toys online.

Going back to the days of eWorld, Apple has not been able to get a
competent online community working. Fortunately for Apple, their main web
site is managed by someone else.
