Terry, I'll be damned!....I never even noticed the volume control knob on my wireless keyboard until I checked for it after your question. Once I turned it up the volume went up fine. I suspect what happened (maybe the last time too) is that my cat got up on the keyboard (which she sometimes does) and bumped into the volume knob in a way that turned it down. I live alone other than the cat so unless I'm sleep-computing, figure it must be her.
