The "maybe best move is to get the most expensive" approach is sort of 
the hardware version of bloatware.

I think the best move is to get something that closely matches your 
needs. In many cases, smaller is better. Smaller means it will probably 
always be in your pocket. If you already carry a cell phone then I would 
expect a smart phone would give you the greatest utility.
