A year isn't usually described as 'momentary' and once again you take it where I wasn't going to try and make some crazy point. It's laughable to think that every iteration of OS X was a 'major' release. The reason Apple can stay ahead of malware writers is because there are none being written, everyone who can think clearly about the topic has seen several times over OS X security compromised as easily, or in the case of two cansecwest conferences, very easily.
That being said, my point wasn't about security, but rather the number of times Apple had to post updates to their OS to fix code problems. Clearly they aren't testing it the way you believe they are. In another thread on this list members aren't getting the OS X update for fear of it taking down their systems or causing problems...doesn't make your argument look very good when you refuse to get the update. Don't trust Apple to have thoroughly tested it? I'm not even arguing which has better software overall...the point I am making that you don't want to address is that Apple, along with every other software vendor has to release updates to fix bad code.
