But it does not show up in My Computer. Gail, Typically drives sold for internal use are not formatted. You can partition and format it in one of the Manager areas. Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Computer Management, then go to the Disk or Storage area. Once you see the drive there, right click and make it one partition.
