You need a MacOS to run the software, which means you need a dongle from Apple. Lots of confusion at the software site, including a list of system requirements: http://www.apple.com/finalcutstudio/specs/#finalcutpro
Once you have a dongle errr... system, you can easily spend 10k on a camera if you want.
