Have you tried to player the WMV files that have no sound in WMP 11 with
any other player like VLC, Wimamp, Media Player Classic etc.?
If so, did they have audio playback? If not, give it a try with VLC and
see if it works. That way you can at least exclude a problem with the
WMV file.
I have indeed tried running these files on VLC, and the audio works on all of
them; when playing them on WMP, audio works on some files and not on others.
I have also tried the System Restore, and for some reason, as it reboots it
tells me that the system restore was not successful.? I have no idea why I am
running in to this.
So now there are three issues, and if you can provide any pointers I'd sure
appreciate it!
- The sound issue on WMP.? I am giving up on this and no longer seeking a
solution.
- The "error loading P17.dll" issue.? Any pointers on how to resolve this??
Apparently it had to do with installing the new drivers.
- The inability to successfully restore using System Restore.? Any pointers on
the cause and resolution of this problem?
