I have also tried the System Restore, and for some reason, as it reboots it

running in to this.
So now there are three issues, and if you can provide any pointers I'd sure
appreciate it!
- The sound issue on WMP.? I am giving up on this and no longer seeking a
solution.
- The "error loading P17.dll" issue.? Any pointers on how to resolve this??
Apparently it had to do with installing the new drivers.
- The inability to successfully restore using System Restore.? Any pointers on
the cause and resolution of this problem?
Well, we've tripled your problems. Who says we are not productive?
#1. "The inability to successfully restore using System Restore.?"
Response- Try another older system restore point. Try a few.
#2 You mentioned you ran registry cleaners? It is possible the P17.DLL
Dynamic Link Library was removed in error. Most reg.
cleaners save an undo or restore file. If you have lived a good
clean life, try using the reg cleaner you ran undo or restore
feature and you might get it back.
#3 Using The Google on your P17 error message; I found it is for audio
and references to people fixing that error message at boot
by reinstalling the sound cards audio software.
I found these instructions for XP, I know you're using Vista but it
might help:
A. Click on start, run, and type msconfig.
B. Click on the startup tab.
C. Look through the entries for one that states something like:
rundll32.exe p17.dll,something here
D. Remove the check mark next to this entry. Reboot and see if its
fixed.
I also found people who fixed it by using error checking at boot up. I
know how to do that in XP, but not Vista.
Good Luck.
