That's pretty amazing! I have not tried very hard to learn, but the little bit I've done did help me know where the letters are. Of course, different people's brains work differently. I have little patience and discipline for tedious repetition. Of course, like your wife, if my job depended on it I would learn. I did a lot of CNC programming, but that is not like typing pages of words. And I developed methods of moving "text" around that further reduced typing. I also can't spell, so I probably wouldn't be able to type very quickly even if I learned how. I'll keep the typing textbook idea in mind though.
