24bit, 88.2 k ? Those are DAW formats, not consumer formats.
Yes, that's true. But with a good DAC and a fast internet connection
it's possible to download music of that resolution. WMP can hack
streaming it off a hard drive, it's just a PCM bitstream at that point
anyway. If the DAC (I use an outboard one) can deal with it (and
it can), it's all good. All that is required is a S/PDIF or TOSLINK
connection on the transport device, right?
Unless your looking to pay $1500 for your ipod.
I'd pay $1500 for an Ipod that could do, portably, what a Mac Mini
or my desktop can all ready do. I think it would be a killer product.
