Saw the new MS "Laptop Hunters" ad last night on the TV. Besides the norm of making the point the WIndows computers are cheap, I was struck by what is obvious, yet to me questionable about the correlation about being concerned about price while still spending an awful lot on a kid. In the ad, the mom is out with her son, shopping for a gaming computer for what appears to be maybe a thirteen/fourteen year old. Her budget is $1,500. Is this the norm these days for expenditures on the whims of children?
