Have you tried IE8? IE8 is supposed to be more secure (of course they always lie about that) and generally less crappy (better standards compliance). There is a Brazilian Portuguese version of IE8 for XP. You might be able to make a better case with both banks that you are running the current version of IE. It is they who are messing up and putting you at risk by expecting that you run a less secure old version of the browser. Do your banks only support IE? FireFox would be a much better choice in terms of both security and uncrappiness. Is FireFox used much in Brazil or is it more of a northern hemisphere thing? P.S. Why is your subject line so crappy?
