If someone inserts a USB key, presumably they want to open it? Same with a
CD..why put a cd in if there isn't something there you want to do with it?
But you don't always want to start a program or open an Explorer window.
I know most of you are going to cringe in disgust when I say this, but
I keep my email and Quicken files on a USB thumb drive so I can use
them on multiple computers. I don't want Windows trying to outsmart me
and open some program that I'm not interested in opening. I don't
always want to open my email and/or Quicken every time I insert my
drive.
I tried turning off AutoPlay in the registry, but that killed
everything. Couldn't even start U3 manually!
