I recall that in the past this company has launched subscrption services
and then withdrawn them, leaving subscribers high and dry. Is that why
you want to exclude consideration of the provider from our valuation of
the service?

I do not spend anything like $180/year for music.

The CD I'm playing at the moment was purchased about 10 years ago.
Checking online I see the list price for this boxed set is $71. I
probably paid a bit less, I don't remember. It has 54 tracks, so I guess
the Zune price is $81. So the Zune cost is higher by at least $10. At 10
tracks per month I would have to accumulate these tracks over 6 months,
assuming I only get these tracks (what a pain!).

Do the Zune "free" tracks roll-over if I don't take my 10 tracks every
month?

What I have on the CD is of higher quality and they can't take it away
from me.
