I have used Lacie drives for years with good results. However thay have a
terrible reputation for frequent failures. Just hasn't happened to me.
These are the drives I carry with me to clients and an constantly using
them with different computers. More recently I have used enclosures from
Macally. Not as durable as the Lacie drives, but they do the job and are
lots cheaper.
Betty: It is not about buying the cheapest, its is about not spending
more than necessary to get the job done.
I agree. You can get excellent quality goods inexpensively, or you can
get cheap junk cheap. You can also pay a lot for a bad product. It
involves a bit of work to find the best quality you can afford at the
best price. It's also important to use the right tool for the job.
