Published--that's a little harder. Or if getting published is easy for anyone, please let me in on your secret! I know people with work a lot better than mine who languish for years without selling anything more than a short story or two; and the people who get published have put in a huge amount of effort to get that far--even if they have agents.

I own several very good self-published POD books. The author created a PDF and sent that to lulu.com (there are other such companies). Lulu prints the book on demand and fills the order, splitting the revenue with the author. Lulu has a distribution service that lists these books on Amazon. Barnes and Noble, etc. http://www.lulu.com/ publish/books/?cid=us_home_nav_bk

I just followed up on one of there books. I see that 2 years later the author updated the book and Peach Pit Press published it. I also see that he has gotten out of the book business and now runs a home- based consulting company in the same field as the book.

I don't know whether this should be called a success or not.
