Well who knows, Windows may have some hidden gotcha. If you had a Mac
there would be no probs.
Apple always provides power over FireWire. Many cheepo PC vendors
neglect to connect the power to the FireWire port. So your odds are
worse than 50-50 on that one.
I look for "quad mode" enclosures: USB, FW400, FW800, & eSATA.
