I've been using Rayovac I-C3 for several years (actually the same 10
batteries), & have only just now found out they were discontinued in
2007. Rayovac has a new Hybrid brand, they claim holds a charge for
6 months. Since my I-C3 charger only holds 2 batteries at a time,
I'd probably have to buy a 4-battery charger (would be my 4th
charger in 7 years-WTF!?! Talk about planned obsolescence...).
Not OT at all.
The batteries are still in stock

Since they last such a long time why not just stock up?
However, the new batteries cost less and hold charge longer. I bet
these are just the new LSD NiMH batteries that everyone else is also
switching to. I bought some Sanyo Eneloop LSD NiMH batteries last
Summer and am very happy with their performance. I use the same
charger I used for the old batteries and it works fine. Are you sure
you need a new charger?
The big deal about what you have is not the batteries, it is the
charger. It is a very rapid charger (15 minutes). Regular chargers
take several hours.
