My wife has a MacBookPro running OS 10.5.8. She just bought an external
hard drive for backup purposes. (We figured that she'd use Time
Machine.) The drive can be connected by USB 2 or FireWire (both 400 &
800). She has all three ports on her MacBook Pro. I am assuming that
best one for her to use would be the Firewire 800. Am I correct? Also
since she is using a MacBook Pro, it will not always be connected to the
drive. Will this cause a problem? What else should I watch out for? This
is my first attempt at using Time Machine.
