I think most electronic studios have gone to HD/Computer storage away
from tape.
Tape is a notoriously fickle and unreliable medium for storage.
TV studios use mostly HD storage for their studios, along with radio stations.
Radio is almost totally Computer driven these days. They can sit at
a console and program their whole day including commercials etc.
(I have been at a studio for one of my club activities when we
actually read ads on the radio. Cramps their whole day.)

Note that the reason most shooters still prefer tape is because it's a
good *archival* storage format. Don't bother sitting around comparing
the cost of *temporary* storage like flash or HDDs or SSDs with tape.
It's apples and oranges.
