I got my iPod 1.0 just a few weeks after it was introduced. It was absolutely amazing. For a few months I was the only one on Metro with white earphones. Then little by little, almost everybody had them.
Though I agree that I would not touch a new OS X version or any M$ product until at least SP2 or SP3.
