Android passed the 100,000 apps and counting mark as well as the 1 billionth
download. Info week notes that the actual number may be more or less than,
but the wind in Android's sails is not to be doubted. Apple has the upper
position at this point, but for how long if they stay at the top with one
carrier? One point that is brought up each time the subject is discussed is
that so few apps are actually making money on Android. Does this matter
looking at the velocity of apps being created for Android? If no one is
making money, why so many apps? The real losers here are probably going to
be blackberry and MS phone 7, they are both so far behind both apple at this
point can they make a real dent? The winner of course is anyone buying a
cell phone.
