i) re enigmail freezing: hmm, may be something to do with me signing mail by default. will stop doing it for this forum. btw: i'm using kmail but have not had any reported difficulties in the past, but... ii) re libconcord: i did a cvs co and then the mv'ing & etc that you outlined in the first post in this chain.
