Hi,

It is with great trepidation that I announce release 0.1 of Koncordance.

Koncordance is a KDE-based (of course, as it starts with a “K”) wrapper for
libconcord. It is available for download from
http://www.kde-apps.org/content/show.php/Koncordance?content=76670 .

So what's done / not done?

1) Just about all the features of concordance are included. Missing are
the --learn-ir and --connectivity-test options. It was my arbitrary decision
to exclude them. If you think they should be included, just holler.

2) The User Manual is not present. I will start work on that in the next few
days and release it with Koncordance 0.2. In the meantime, I'm sure that
concordance users will be able to figure the interface out.

3) If you just want to give it a test drive without affecting your remote, run
it from the command line with the option -t (or --test). This bypasses all
communications with the remote and the Web site. (I put this in for my own
testing purposes and decided that it wouldn't be a bad thing to leave in.)

4) Critter extermination. If you run across one of these vermin, please left
me know via the above Web page. Do NOT post problems on this site - I'm sure
Phil et. al. would not appreciate having their forum polluted with my
problems.

5) Of course, as with concordance, you MUST run Koncordance as root.

Brief installation instructions:

tar -xjvf koncordance.tar.bz2
cd Koncordance
./configure
make
make install (as root)
koncordance -t (for a test drive).

There should be an icon for Koncordance under Kmenu / Utilities.

Cheers,
Kev
