Hi, I have been given a Harmony 520 remote, with no documentation or software. I have downloaded and built concordance and libconcord and they seem like they work...
I can set the time on the remote, dump the firmware and so forth, but anything else seems to require some mysterious file which I need to get from some mysterious location. So I downloaded congruity, thinking that perhaps a GUI might be what I need to get started, but it seems that it *also* requires one of these magic files of type EZHex, EZUp or EZTut. A google search for those really doesn't suggest anything in the way of sources for them. Is there anywhere I can get these files from? What are they for? Is there a format specification I can download? Will they be useful to me if I download some from somewhere, or are they in some way device specific? I don't have access to any computers running Windows or MacOS, so I can't try and run the Windows software. I did try running it under Wine, but without too much luck, and looking through the directories concerned I wasn't able to find any of these mysterious files also (or not so as I could see :-) As far as I can tell, the remote doesn't do anything useful, other than run through a tutorial and then go back to sleep. Quite possibly the previous owner (my father-in-law, now in a 'retirement' hospital) never did manage to set it up at all. I see a comment in the FAQ saying that the objective of the concordance project is not to create these files, and that's fine, but it seems that there is some value in having something that could perhaps provide them within an open-source environment. I can't find anywhere on the Logitech website where I could log in and register and download these files, so I can only guess that the Windows software does that. Somehow. Or maybe I'm just blind and/or ignorant :-) My own development skills are more around web applications, so perhaps I can do something in this area? Is there any value / interest / starting points if I were to try to start on an application for providing these files? Thanks, Andrew McMillan. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ andrew (AT) morphoss (DOT) com +64(272)DEBIAN You'll feel much better once you've given up hope. ------------------------------------------------------------------------
