Hi,

Patch applied.
It got further, but failed in the end.

mela...@jessy /usr/local/src/concordance/concordance $ sudo ./concordance
/tmp/LatestFirmware.EZUp
Concordance 0.21+CVS

This software is distributed under the GPLv3.

NOTE: A firmware upgrade, will erase your remote's config and you will need
to update it. You may want to make a backup with -c or otherwise just use
the website.

Remote now says 'safe mode' on the screen.
concordance can't find it :(

I tried from this post:
http://www.mail-archive.com/concordance-devel@lists.sourceforge.net/msg00085.html

mela...@jessy /usr/local/src/concordance/concordance $ sudo ./concordance -v
--direct -F /tmp/LatestFirmware.EZUp
Concordance 0.21+CVS
Copyright 2007 Kevin Timmerman and Phil Dibowitz
This software is distributed under the GPLv3.

ERROR: Couldn't initializing libconcord: Error connecting or finding the
remote

A bit of googling, and I followed the steps below:

1. Ensure the Remote is in "Safe Mode Requested" by taking out the
batteries, and disconnecting the remote from the USB cable.
2. Hold down the Off button and plug the remote into the USB.
3. Continue holding down the Off button for another 10 seconds. The remote
should then display the words "Safe Mode Requested".
4. With the unit in "Safe Mode Requested", re-install the firmware by
clicking Support on your home page.

Ok, here I ran the command sudo ./concordance -v --direct -F
/tmp/LatestFirmware.EZUp again, but got the same results, concordance can't
find the remote.

Any ideas how I can revive the remote (without windows) - don't have windows
here, but my wife can bring her windowz based laptop from work, so not all
is lost :)

from dmesg I have:
