A patch like this certainly sets the frequency. Exposing a frequency
setting API has not been provided so far, as the user is hardly ever
equipped to set a proper one. If the user is, there will be a frequent
use of the 'iw' tool, and the result is good only for that temporary
location and time. Move somewhere else, and all of the manual steps need
repeating.
The best available frequency for tethering should be automatically
requested by ConnMan from wpa_supplicant. wpa_supplicant in turn may
unfortunately need some selective fixing to make this a working
solution.
ConnMan should also handle multiple AP capable WiFi cards such that
tethering coverage will be maximized over all available frequency
ranges.
As far as I know, no-one is working on the two items above so patches
will be welcome...
