Post title: Preventive Conservator Post status: 5 years fixed term contract, full time Department: Preservation & Conservation, The Library, Trinity College Dublin Salary: Senior Technical Officer Scale at a point in line with current government pay policy Closing: 8 November 2016 The successful candidate will play a role in the department's preservation and conservation activities, specifically contributing to the stewardship strategy and the planning and implementation of preservation activities for the Library's collections. You will work alongside senior conservators on risk assessment and will lead on environmental monitoring. You will supervise the work of the bindery and will develop treatment solutions for circulating collections. You will be involved in developing in-house training on collection care; in selecting and implementing re-housing solutions for the collections; and in preparing items for digitisation. The successful candidate will be encouraged to develop her/his professional career through research and publication. You will be expected to work within a team ethos, and independently on given tasks, as well as to effectively manage your workflow.
