Paintings Conservator

Royal Museums Greenwich

UK

Fixed Term Contract

£23,000 - £28,000 per annum

London

An experienced paintings conservator, you've already proved your ability to
work to high standards and undertake complex treatments. Join Royal Museums
Greenwich to expand your experience, skills and knowledge as well as having the
opportunity to work on a world class collection.

RMG has a significant art collection with around 4,000 oil paintings and an
exciting temporary exhibition, loans and permanent gallery update programme
which showcase some of these works of art. You will support this programme and
work on a variety of paintings including portraits and seascapes on canvas and
panel.

Working independently or as part of a team, you will work alongside a team of
experienced conservators, as well as interns and students. There will also be
the opportunity to take on the complex and challenging treatments of paintings,
carry out condition surveys and contribute to the care of collections programme.

Ideally PACR accredited (or equivalent), you should combine strong teamworking
and IT skills with the ability to communicate complex subjects to a range of
audiences. A flexible approach is also important, as is the ability to organise
and prioritise your workload.
