The Historic Architecture, Conservation and Engineering Center (HACE)
of the National Park Service is pleased to announce the addition of
Angela Campbell this past May as the Regional Center’s Paper
Conservator. She will be responsible for the conservation and
preservation of works on paper and books. The holdings of the
Northeast Region include over 36 million objects, in 84 National
Historic Sites, the majority of which are works on paper. Angela was
previously an Assistant Conservator at the Metropolitan Museum of Art,
where she spent seven years working in the Sherman Fairchild Center
for Works on Paper and Photograph Conservation. During that time, she
treated a wide variety of materials, including medievalparchment
manuscripts, 16th-century German prints and etchings, 17th-century
French drawings, and modern American prints, among others, though her
specific area of interest has consistently been printed material.
Angela brings her treatment experience as well as her broad digital
and analog examination and documentation capabilities to her new role.
Angela has been a member of AIC and the Book and Paper Group of AIC
since 2003; she has been a Professional Associate since 2013. In
2015-2017, she held the elected position of Assistant Program Chair
/Program Chair for the Book and Paper Group of AIC. Angela holds an
M.A. degree and Certificate of Advanced Study in Art Conservation from
Buffalo State College.
