A Combined Synopsis Solicitation has been posted on Federal Business Opportunities for a part-time contract paper conservator at Archives I in Washington, DC. The Solicitation number is NARA-883103-18-Q-00003. Quotations and Past Performance Questionnaires are due November 22. The Conservation Lab of the US National Archives requires the services of one conservator to stabilize documents prior to digitization. A range of stabilization treatments will be performed on original War of 1812 Pension and Bounty Land Warrant Application Files, ca. 1871 - ca. 1900 to ensure safe handling and full image capture of content during digitization.
