Good afternoon,

I am writing to announce a contract at the Smithsonian American Art Museum. We
are looking for a time-based media conservation specialist to create baseline
documentation of the museum's time-based media collections. This will be a
fixed-price, 12 month contract, not to exceed 2000 hours. The likely period of
performance will begin January 1, 2018 and end February 1, 2019. Required
services will be performed on location in Washington, DC at the Smithsonian
American Art Museum, its offices, and its storage facilities. Items to be
documented will include media artworks incorporating a variety of technologies
and materials including film, analog video, digital video, audio, proprietary
and custom electronics, computer hardware, proprietary and custom software, and
sculptural elements. At present there are 125 works in the collection that
require documentation.

The deadline for quote submissions will be December 11 at 6:00PM.

Individuals will require a DUNS number and to be listed in the federal System
for Award Management (SAM). If you are interested and do not have a DUNS number
and are not listed in SAM you should start this process as soon as possible.
You do not need them to submit a quote but you will need them to accept the
contract and receive payment.

Please contact me with any questions regarding this announcement. If you are
interested in the contract I will provide a Request For Quote and Statement of
Work which explain what the work will entail, how to submit a quote, and how
received quotes will be evaluated.

Thank you,

Dan Finn
