The Gordon Research Seminar on Scientific Methods in Cultural Heritage
Research is a unique forum for graduate students, post-docs, and other
scientists with comparable levels of experience and education to present
and exchange their latest research and cutting edge ideas on material
characterization, chemical/physical behaviors, and conservation strategies
for cultural heritage objects. We welcome participants
and contributions for oral presentations and posters from the fields of
conservation, conservation science and technical art history.

The focus of this meeting is to provide opportunities to discuss innovative
and forefront scientific research relevant to cultural heritage science
through topics such as state-of-the-art technologies, advancements in
non-invasive and non-destructive analysis, novel chemical/physical
phenomena, new developments in conservation techniques and practice, and
object-based monitoring capabilities.

Seminar topics:

     - Scientific Investigation of New Chemical Phenomena: Technical Case
Studies and Fundamental Research

     - Recent Instrumental and Technologic Advances for the Investigation
of Historic Materials

     - From Research Laboratories to Conservation Studios: Application of
Recent Developments in Conservation Practices

Important dates:

April 21, 2018: Deadline for abstracts for oral presentations
May 21, 2018: Detailed conference program available
