Dear ConsDistList,

On behalf of the ArtisLab group of Politecnico di Milano, I am glad to invite
you to the Workshop “Painting degradation? Let’s have a look!” the 17th April
2018. The aim of the one-day meeting is to provide an overview of the latest
innovation in photonic techniques for painting investigation. We wish to invite
students and researchers in the field to participate.

International specialists will illustrate in the morning session their most
recent research, encouraging discussion between students and experts. Here, the
oral contributions:
- Selwin Hageraats (Rijksmuseum, Netherlands) Deep-UV photoluminescence
microscopy to study the degradation in paint;
- Gael Latour (Université Paris-Sud, France) Multiphoton microscopy for
cultural heritage artefacts;
- Thomas Calligaro (C2RMS, France) Combination of photoluminescence with
scanning X-ray fluorescence (MA-XRF);
- Tommaso Frizzi (XGLab srl, Italy): Hydra, a novel XRF-XRD combined
spectrometer.

The morning session is free after on-line registration.
The afternoon session is interactive and totally dedicated to researchers and
practicing conservators. It will include the visit to our laboratory and an
experimental demonstration. Researchers, interested in taking part in this
interactive afternoon session and in bringing samples to be analysed, are asked
to directly contact us ([email protected]).
