In response to Steven Prins' query on what is the best adhesive for glass, I would recommend Paraloid B-72. We have been using it here at the Corning Museum of Glass for over 30 years, and if the originals were adhered with Duco Cement, it will certainly be compatible and appropriate for re-attaching your shards. I recommend you prepare your own, simply in acetone, and put it in adhesive tubes for easy and consistent application. For more information, see my book, Conservation and Care of Glass Objects, Archetype Books, 2006.
