A new residential study opportunity: Book Camp 2018 June 8-17 Dragon Press Bindery, Wiltshire, UK
Book Camp offers four two-day classes on aspects of bookbinding and is designed for anyone working in conservation or the various book arts fields who is keen to learn more about binding techniques. Tuition will be given by the founders in this purpose-built bindery in the Wiltshire countryside. Participants are welcome to camp in the spacious grounds or stay in a local B&B. The workshop programme: Vellum Binding with Michael Burke Edelpappband with Dieter Räder Leather Facsimile Chemise with Philippa Räder Library Style Binding with Dominic Riley To encourage exchange of knowledge, skills and ideas, meals will be shared and there will be informal presentations in the evenings, followed by time around the camp fire. On the mid-point free day visits will be arranged to nearby places of special interest. Fees include tuition, hand-outs and all materials as well as meals. Camping is free of charge.
