In March 2018, the Getty Conservation Institute hosted an Experts Meeting on advancing the practice of microfader testing (MFT) in the cultural heritage field. Discussion ranged from the technical aspects of MFT to various means of disseminating essential information with practitioners and interested colleagues. Meeting summaries and/or transcripts are expected to made available.
While the meeting produced a list of action items that will be explored in coming months, an important early step was to identify as many users of the MFT technique as possible in an effort to begin developing regional networks of MFT expertise around the world. Practitioners within specific geographic regions might then serve as resources for each other or for those interested in the technique. Further, this process of identifying current and prospective users will aid us in defining our target audience. If you are 1) a MFT user with access to an instrument or 2) an individual and/or institution considering obtaining a MFT (prospective user), please complete a brief survey which can be accessed by the following links: Current MFT Users: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/currentmftusers Prospective MFT Users: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/prospectivemftusers <https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/prospectivemftusers> Many thanks for your participation.
