Drs. Monica Maceli and Elena Villaespesa, both faculty at Pratt Institute School of Information, are seeking participants for a focus group to be held in August (date/time will be determined based on participant availability). The purpose of this study is to understand the methods and tools you use to monitor environmental conditions of archival collections (such as temperature or humidity).
To be able to take part in this study, you must be 18 years of age or older and currently employed in a position in which your responsibilities include environmental monitoring of collections. If you choose to take part in this study, you would be asked to describe your current preservation practices to monitor environmental conditions and, working with other participants, to brainstorm improvements and/or additional features. The session will take approximately 2 hours and will be held at Pratt Institute's School of Information, located at 144 W. 14th St. in Manhattan. Light refreshments will be provided. A maximum of 10 participants will be recruited for this study on a first-come first-serve basis.
