I'm carrying out a review of a proposal for a new, outdoor, public art
sculpture that includes a series of shallow polycarbonate boxes which will
contain small objects and other solid inserts.
The boxes are very similar to double glazed windows - in other words two
sheets of polycarbonate with a shallow gap between them, sealed around the
edges and filled with argon gas. The artists are proposing flushing the
boxes to prevent moisture condensing on the interior surfaces.

I am looking for any information or examples of this type of fabrication
being used in outdoor installations, and whether or not there have been
maintenance issues, especially any periodic need to recharge the interiors
of the boxes.

Happy new year to one and all,

Claire
