Icon is delighted to announce the award of £57,000 to fund practicing conservators from countries with emerging economies to attend the Icon19 Triennial conference in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
The grant will also allow Getty-funded delegates to visit two private conservation studios and conservation studios of two world-renowned organisations in London. Siobhan Stevenson ACR, Chair of Icon's Board of Trustees welcomed this news "This is a wonderful opportunity to provide critical support to conservators from emerging economies to attend our next international conference in Belfast and to participate in a CPD programme of activities designed especially for them. It presents a unique opportunity for Icon to take forward our mission and to support our strategic aims of advocacy, excellence and engagement. We believe these strategic aims have global relevance. They are as essential to conservators and the public in Rio as they are in Edinburgh". Fees, accommodation and travel will be covered to attend this Icon programme. Applications are open until 12 noon (UK time) on 18 February 2019.
