Colleagues
I am writing to let you know about the following opportunity for a piece of
contract work at Suffolk Record Office, Ipswich, United Kingdom.

Suffolk County Council (Suffolk Record Office) and the University of Suffolk
have formed a partnership to deliver an exciting new heritage facility called
The Hold. More than just a building, The Hold is an engine driving the
countywide transformation of the Record Office into an Archive Service for the
21st Century. The project has successfully attracted support from the Heritage
Lottery Fund and we are in the Delivery Phase.

We require a Freelance Conservator, familiar with the operation of passive
strongrooms, to support us from May 2019 - end of July 2020. Some of the work
will be associated with the preparation for and the digitisation of maps and
documents supporting the delivery of our countywide Activity Plan. The
remainder of the time will be spent on preparations for and the movement of
collections into The Hold.

Suppliers interested in this opportunity should register on the Suffolk
Sourcing website (www.suffolksourcing.uk) and consult the tender documents for
Freelance Conservator for 'The Hold' Ref HG-014-08167 FC2 (direct link -
https://in-tendhost.co.uk/suffolksourcing/aspx/ProjectManage/967). These
contain full details of how to submit.

Once registered, you will find on the portal some background documents about
the project (e.g. Conservation Plan, Activity Plan, Brief, suppliers' guide,
and draft contract (Ts & Cs). The Invitation to Tender (ITT) document has the
full details of how and what to submit, but please note that the following will
be required as part of your submission:-

1. At least 3 examples of relevant Conservation projects carried out by
your company with relevant references/testimonials that can be followed up.
2. Approach/methodology and proposed schedule of delivery, with timetable
for both aspects of the project i.e. digitisation and move preparations.
3. CV's of staff involved.
4. Price/Cost for doing the work including travel and expenses.

Further important details:
Maximum potential contract value: £35,000
Submission deadline: midday 1/3/2019
Clarification meetings, if necessary, will be held 11/3/2019-15/3/2019
