Hi,

I am looking for advice relating to the conservation of archaeological
fur/pelt. This is in the context of fur being a very rare find, the
literature and experience on the subject is limited.

I am currently evaluating treatment methods for the treatment of a
medieval pelt fragment (possibly part of clothing) from Tonsberg,
Norway.

Therefore I am wondering what conservation methods you have used and
what results have you had? What treatment worked and what treatment did
not work?

I am very grateful for any advice and thought, references to relevant
literature would also be most welcome.

All the very best,
Pia
