Dear Colleagues, I would like to make you aware of the trainee position in conservation Science:
The trainee will join the Conservation Science Team and have the opportunity to support the understanding of the deterioration of Scotland's traditional buildings and historic environment as driven by the exposure to climatic conditions. Through the year, the trainee will acquire a broader and deeper understanding of a range of analytical techniques (environmental weathering chambers, Infrared Thermography, Microwave moisture monitoring, X-ray diffraction, X-ray fluorescence, thin section analysis etc.). The trainee will provide a key role in supporting the conservation science team by contributing to current and ongoing internal projects looking at the response and resilience of materials on HES properties in care. As part of the training plan, the trainee will have access to participate within education units of the advanced postgraduate diploma course at the Engine Shed.
