Bevaringstenestene, the conservation department of the museum center in 
Hordaland, have a vacancy for an object conservator. We are seeking a 
conservator with a recognised qualification (master’s degree) in objects 
conservation or relevant specialism (ceramics, glass, metals etc). You should 
have demonstrable work experience in assessing and treating a wide range of 
objects. In the application you should specify the object or material types in 
which you are specialised or have had the most practical experience conserving.

The successful candidate will be able to work independently and in 
collaboration with others. You will have good time management skills and the 
ability to work flexibly across a range of assignments. The role requires 
excellent language skills, both written and oral in either a Scandinavian 
language or English, with the ability to communicate specialist advice to a 
variety of partners and maintain object records using an established collection 
management database. You will complete practical treatments to a high standard 
with a diligent approach which integrates client wishes alongside recognised 
ethical codes.

This is a project position for one year with the possibility of extension. The
