AIC's Emerging Conservation Professionals Network (ECPN) and the Equity and
Inclusion Committee (E&IC) have joined forces and are pleased to announce
our upcoming webinar, “Gender Equity in the Conservation Field,” taking
place on Wednesday, April 24th from 12:00-1:00 pm EDT.

Did you know that women currently comprise over 75%
<https://www.culturalheritage.org/docs/default-source/reports/compensation-survey-2014.pdf>
of
the workforce in art conservation? Yet, women in our field statistically do
not command the same pay rate as men with comparable education and
experience. How does being a “pink collar field” affect gender equity, and
what can emerging conservation professionals do to promote and support the
fair allocation of resources and decision-making power to both men and
women? Find out in this webinar! It is never too early to begin advocating
for gender equity in the workplace.

ECPN and E&IC have invited two speakers to provide their perspectives on
this topic. Joan Baldwin and Anne Ackerson, the authors of the book Women
in the Museum: Lessons from the Workplace, will discuss issues of gender
equity and leadership as they pertain to the conservation field and to the
museum sector at large.

ECPN and E&IC are seeking questions for the Q&A session following the
speakers’ presentations. To submit your questions in advance, please post
in the comments section below or send them via email to
[email protected]. Questions will be accepted until the
morning of the webinar or can be submitted during the presentations via the
GoToWebinar platform.

Attendance is free and open to all AIC members. Please register here
<https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/87145490389802499> to watch the
webinar. If you are unable to view the program on April 24th,or are not a
member of AIC, the full video will be recorded and uploaded onto the AIC
YouTube Channel <https://www.youtube.com/user/aiconservation/> following
the broadcast.

This webinar is the first of a series of educational programs supported by
the Department of Art Conservation, University of Delaware, in honor of
Bruno Pouliot. ECPN is grateful to the University of Delaware for this
opportunity to celebrate Bruno’s legacy as a mentor and educator and to
commemorate his passion for the conservation profession. Please see this
